DUI twice in two hours

ACT Policing retained a man in the Watch House on Saturday morning (3 May) after he was caught drink driving twice in two hours.

About 2.50am on Saturday morning, police conducted a traffic stop on a silver Subaru Forrester in Curtin and then transported the driver to Woden Police Station for breath analysis, where he recorded a reading of 0.137. He was then served with an Immediate Suspension Notice and advised not to drive.

About 4.10am on Saturday morning, police observed the same car travelling north along Yarra Glen in Curtin and conducted a traffic stop, recognising the driver and taking him to Woden Police Station where he recorded a reading of 0.119. He was issued with another Immediate Suspension Notice and taken to the Watch House.

He was charged with two counts of Driving a motor vehicle with alcohol in blood/breath, driving while unlicensed, and driving while a suspension notice was in effect. He was bailed to appear before the ACT Magistrates Court on 14 May.
