East Civic bus stops back in action

BUS stops on London Circuit East will return to operation from 2pm today, after a fire in Sydney building yesterday caused a temporary closure. action2

The stops are adjacent to the ACT Legislative Assembly, Commonwealth Bank and Waldorf, where road closures have now been lifted.

The area around East Row is currently being assessed by ACT WorkCover for safety. Until the area is declared safe, platforms 1 to 9 of City Bus Station will remain closed for bus operations.

Until further notice, all ACTION bus services in the City area will operate as follows:

• Alinga Street bus stops will be used for all services as per Monday February 17 excluding the Red Rapid route 200. Northbound services will operate adjacent to the Canberra Club stop on Alinga Street and southbound services will operate from adjacent to the Health Building.

• The Red Rapid route 200 will operate from platforms 10 and 11 on Northbourne Avenue.

• The Blue Rapid route 300 will pick-up and drop-off on both platforms 10 and 11 on Northbourne Avenue as well as Alinga Street.

Road closures include Verity Lane, East Row, from London Circuit to Alinga Street (both directions) and the car park on London Circuit (adjacent to Mooseheads nightclub).

Additional transport officers are on scene to assist bus riders with the changed service arrangements.

For up-to-date information on bus services call the ACTION bus information line on 13 17 10 or monitor ACTION’s website www.action.act.gov.au or Twitter account @ACTIONbuses
