‘Exciting’ young musicians at The Front

MELODY Pool and Marlon Williams, billed as two of Australia’s most exciting musicians, are co-headlining an Australian tour that will bring them to The Front tomorrow, Tuesday August 12.

Melody Pool and Marlon Williams

Pool, who comes from the Hunter Valley, has spent the last 12 months touring the globe, including a sellout tour of the UK and Europe with The Milk Carton Kids, and also the Americana Music Festival in Nashville. Her debut album, “The Hurting Scene,” was described by The Australian as “one of the most accomplished debuts by an Australian singer-songwriter for many years”.

She’s touring with fellow 23-year-old, Christchurch’s Marlon Williams, who grew up in rock and country rock bands, but as a singer-songwriter has of late moved towards something more familiar in the country song line. Described by Rhythms Magazine as the ‘Artist to Watch’ in 2014, he featured recently on SBS’s “Rockwiz” last week and performed at the Sydney Opera House in April for TEDx Sydney alongside Megan Washington and Lior.

Melody Pool and Marlon Williams, at The Front,  Wattle Street Lyneham, Tuesday August 12, tickets $10 pre, $15 on door.
