After a warmer than usual start to winter, Canberra’s first snow of the season is finally here with Mount Ginini and Mount Gingera in Namadgi National Park dusted with snow earlier today.
“This year’s first snow of the season has come exactly one month later than last year’s, but the wait has only made rangers more excited,” said Brett McNamara, Regional Manager, National Parks and Catchments.
“A sudden change in weather may result in heavy rain, sleet or snow that could make some roads unpassable. While there are currently no road closures in place, I urge rural roads including Mount Franklin Road and Boboyan Road.”
