The Air Force has advised that the funeral of Air Chief Marshal Sir Neville McNamara, KBE, AO, AFC, AE at Manuka’s St Christopher’s Church tomorrow will be honoured by a large “Missing Man Formation” flyover of Hornet fighter jets.
“Four F/A-18A/B Hornets will conduct a ‘missing man’ formation near Woden between 12pm and 1pm,” a spokesperson said.
McNamara was a veteran of the Second World War flying Kittyhawks and the Korean War flying Gloucester Meteors, he rose to be Commander RAAF Forces Vietnam before becoming Chief of the Air Staff and then later Chief of the Defence Force Staff.
