FROM tomorrow (Wednesday 21 May 2014) the ACT Parks and Conservation Service will conduct a fox control program within the Mulligans Flat and Goorooyaroo Nature Reserves.
Urban Reserves, Sanctuary Ranger in Charge, Stephen Wilkes, said the purpose of the program is to control feral predators in the reserves to help protect native fauna and reintroduced species within the Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary.
“The program will be conducted under licence using 1080 poison,” Stephen said.
Baits will be shallow buried and will not be placed within 500 metres of residential properties. Pet owners are advised that domestic dogs are at risk of poisoning and there is no effective antidote to 1080.
