Free bacon and eggs this Wednesday for Ride to Work Day

PEDAL Power are promising free bacon and eggs as part of their Ride2Work day on Wednesday.

The ACT Ride2Work Breakfast will be on Allara Street, opposite the Crowne Plaza, on Wednesday 15th October along with the opening of the new cycleway.

“Ride2Work Day is a great way to focus the attention on how easy it can be to ride the bike to & from work. It is a great national celebration of cycling in Australia – and is especially relevant to the ACT. The numbers of people who regularly cycle to and from work has not increased markedly over recent years – and we believe that infrastructure such as the Civic Cycle Loop can go a long way to changing that. With paid parking being introduced in the Parliamentary triangle, cycling to work is even more of an attractive option. That’s why I am delighted that we are able to hold this event to acknowledge the opening of the Allara Street section of the Civic Cycle Loop. I am especially grateful to ACT Territory and Municipal Services Directorate for their support in arranging for the space to be available as well as laying on the bacon and eggs!” said Pedal Power ACT Executive Officer John Armstrong.

“If you are organising your own Ride2Work breakfast we’d love to hear from you – just give us a call on 6248 7995 – and if there isn’t an event at your workplace then come along to Allara Street between 7 and 9am to join in and get a pre-work boost!”
