Gundaroo Public School turning 150

Gundaroo Public School

GUNDAROO Public School is getting ready to celebrate its 150th birthday next year.

A program of events for the day has been developed, which includes a luncheon, student musical performance, school building tours, old style games for the kids and will culminate in an old style dance and BBQ in the evening.

The organisers are hoping to bring the wider Gundaroo community, and staff and students past and present, along on their 150th Anniversary journey.

The school has developed a Facebook page which will provide regular updates on activities, and showcase some of the school’s history.

“Using our Facebook page, we are planning Flashback Friday, where we post old photos of staff, students and events, and call on people to add information about the photo and their time at Gundaroo Public School,” said Sue Kominek, Principal at Gundaroo Public School.

“We would love to hear stories and experiences from past students and staff, or to hear what you are doing or where you are now. You can post this on our Facebook page or email the school.”

“We are also very keen for past staff and students to provide old photos, school uniforms, and memorabilia to feature in classrooms as part of our celebrations,” said Mrs Kominek.

If you are keen to get involved or can provide any memorabilia, please contact the school via email gundaroo-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au or telephone (02) 6236 8115.
