Police-car-0574-175x175

A 22-year-old Kambah man will be summonsed to court on a series of traffic charges after fleeing from police in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, April 3).

About 12.30am, police attempted a traffic stop on a blue Holden Rodeo on Commonwealth Avenue, after the male driver was detected speeding at 129km/h in a signed 70km/h zone.

The man failed to stop and fled from police along Adelaide Avenue towards Woden. The Rodeo reached speeds of 150km/h before the driver stopped his vehicle and surrendered to police.

The 22-year-old male driver, who had a passenger on board, was transported to Woden Police Station where he recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.115.

He will be summonsed to face the ACT Magistrates Court on charges relating to dangerous driving, impaired driving and speeding.
