The Panda Competition began in 1995 to promote the study of Chinese language and culture by school aged children living in Canberra.

Prizes are awarded in each age category and the Lee Hiscox Award is presented to the student with the most creative entry. “The annual competition sees students from preschool primary and high school create a drawing painting essay or poem to a theme.

This year’s theme was “The Horse in Chinese History and Art.”
