CHIEF Minister Gallagher has not released the report of her asbestos task force. But she has launched a van to tour the country spreading the message of the dangers.
Katy joined with the Bernie Banton Foundation and Unions ACT to launch the Mobile Asbestos Awareness Education Van.
The van, which is dedicated to Stan (Stergos) Moutzouris who lost his battle against mesothelioma in February 2010, will travel across Australia to help make the general public aware of the dangers of asbestos.
“I would like to congratulate the Bernie Banton Foundation and Unions ACT on this initiative. It is wonderful to see Government, unions and peak bodies working in partnership to address this very serious issue,” Katy said.
“Educating those in the community and those working in industry about the dangers of asbestos is a priority for the ACT Government,” Ms Gallagher said.
Stan’s Van will make its first stop in Wagga Wagga on 2nd & 3rd October.
