KNIGHTSBRIDGE Penthouse will celebrate its 10th year in operation during the June 20/21 weekend. Bartenders, patrons, DJs, and more, will join together to celebrate what has become an institution for Canberra’s nightlife and the Braddon precinct.

Saturday June 21 they will host Knightsbridge X – birthday edition; a superhero-themed birthday bash. Continuing the dress-up tradition, they will feature the full cast of current bartenders, DJs all night and birthday drink specials, it promises to be a special night for all involved. The birthday bash is open to the public, but they urge people to get in early to avoid the line down Mort St!

As an extra treat Friday June 20 will see an all-star crew of old and new bartenders unite behind the bar to celebrate a decade of good times and great friends.

Since the stainless steel door (a reminder of the prior Mortis Bar) swung open in 2004 Knightsbridge’s passionate bartenders have been mixing, straining, and hard-shaking for their customers to gain a well-deserved reputation as one of Australia’s best cocktail bars. Knightsbridge Penthouse has won best cocktail bar at the AHA ACT Awards in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013.

Knightsbridge Penthouse is the bar-baby of Bria Sydney and her family (Knightsbridge Penthouse, The Elk & Pea, Parlour Wine Room), the mighty Knighty is one of Canberra’s most celebrated and enduring bars: a place to congregate over cocktails, meet new people, enjoy a gin and tonic, and cut funky shapes on the dance floor.

The local fiano that punches above its weight

"The Collector fiano was perfect to drink on a hot day: crisp, textural and with an element of preserved lemon. It is not a low-alcohol wine with a nudge above 13 per cent alcohol by volume," writes wine columnist RICHARD CALVER.
