“Every Chance to Dance” is a new online program that assists teachers with dance tuition and harnesses the popularity of Kulture Break in developing students’ dance skills and confidence.

The new online program is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and is a practical visual dance teaching resource which aims to resource and equip teachers to deliver highly engaging, effective and fun dance programs.

The  program provides 30-minute weekly dance lessons for each band of primary development for each term in the year.  It also includes a pre and post assessment template enabling every teacher to deliver contemporary dance programs in every school for every student.

The program was piloted at Kaleen Primary School last year and was popular with students and teachers.

Kulture Break has been operating in Canberra for 12 years with founder Francis Owusu, known as ‘Franco,’ last year honoured with the 2013 ACT Local Hero Award for his work.

Owusu said today, “My passion is to encourage all young people to be themselves and be confident that no goal is too big or too small. Dancing is a positive tool that can have a great impact on the development of students.  I want this program to help inspire young people to be the best they can be.”
