Lake Ginninderra water skiing gets a tick of approval

TERRITORY and Municipal Services have announced that water skiing on Lake Ginninderra can go ahead at times when Molonglo Reach is closed.

“Following the outcomes of the trial, including feedback from the community, there were no justifiable reasons why ACTWSA members should not be able to train on Lake Ginninderra under the similar conditions as the trial. When the Molonglo Reach water ski area is open for use by the ACTWSA, use of Lake Ginninderra for water skiing and wakeboarding will not be permitted,” said TAMS Manager of Place Management Jane Carder.

“Water ski training will only be permitted on the western arm of Lake Ginninderra, parallel to the east bank and adjacent to Diddams Close. The buoys marking the extent of the water ski training area will remain in place.”
