THE opening shots of a big local film production will echo across Canberra tonight (Friday) and the rest of Australia tomorrow.
The locally produced ‘teaser’ for ‘Aodaliya Gold’, a $20 million feature film to be shot in the Canberra district, will air on the ABC TV’s “7.30” program this evening and will be repeated on ABCNews 24 Australia-wide six times over the weekend.
Produced by Silver Sun Pictures, written by “CityNews” columnist and author Robert Macklin and directed by Cindy Li, it features rising Canberra actors Andy Trieu, Sam Williams and Hannah Lawson.
Next month Li, a well known Shanghai filmmaker and now a proud Canberra resident, will take it to top Chinese production houses in Beijing and Shanghai in the key funding process.
‘The production houses in China have millions to spend,’ Cindy said. ‘We are hoping very much that some of it will be spent in Canberra on ‘Aodaliya Gold’.It is a perfect film to help understanding between China and Australia.’
‘Aodaliya’ is the usual Chinese word for ‘Australia’.
