TWO Canberrans are preparing to bash a Ford Falcon around Victoria and Tasmania in September to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis Australia and they’re raffling off a cute little red scooter to get started.
The Great Escape for Cystic Fibrosis is a crazy car rally from Shepparton to Hobart that requires a $3500 minimum donation to the charity.
Leon Down and Andrew Jack are taking on the rally for the second time having successfully competed in the 2012 Great Escape in car 56.
“Success in this context being that we raised just over $5000 for CF Australia and all got home safe,” Leon tells us. “Our car was not so lucky. It got us home but was damaged beyond repair. We sent it to be recycled.”
Leon and Andrew will be hanging around various shopping centres on Friday nights selling the raffle tickets for the scooter, or you can get one by emailing car56in2012@grapevine.com.au.
