Man bitten by snake near netball centre

A 29-year-old man has been taken to Calvary Hospital by intensive care paramedics after being bitten on the arm by a snake while walking in bushland near the ACT Netball Centre in Lyneham this afternoon.

The species of the snake is not known.

The man walked about 800 metres to the netball centre, where he received first aid. An ambulance was called and intensive care paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to hospital. He was in a stable condition.
