Moonrise disappoints but what a sunset

LIKE many in Canberra last night I figured out the line of the moonrise and trudged to a high place in time for the rising blood moon only to be stymied by a thick layer of cloud on the eastern horizon.

Looking back the other way, however, there was a pretty good sunset.

So not a completely wasted trip then.
