THE National Capital Authority (NCA) will be asked to discuss the effects of changed parking arrangements in the Parliamentary zone at the biannual public hearing of the Joint Standing Committee on the National Capital and External Territories (NCET) on Thursday.

The NCA manages the Commonwealth’s interest in the planning and development of Canberra and the Territory by administering the National Capital Plan.

The hearings are a means of raising the level of transparency and parliamentary accountability applying to the NCA and this hearing will provide an opportunity for the committee to ask the NCA about a range of issues affecting the Capital.

Committee Chair, Luke Simpkins MP said the committee appreciates the opportunity to have the biannual hearings.

“We will also be interested to hear about a range of matters within the ACT and the progress of the changed parking arrangements in the Parliamentary zone and its effects on businesses and national institutions,” he said.
