A new playgroup for premature and sick babies that doubles as a support group for their parents will be held in Isabella Plains on the last Friday of the month starting late May.

Sally McCabe, whose daughter Rachel was born eight weeks premature in 2010, has taken on the coordinator’s job for the group as a volunteer with the Life’s Little Treasures Foundation.

“When my daughter was born two months early there were no playgroups for premature or sick babies and I remember feeling quite isolated,” says Sally. “I am hoping that this playgroup will allow families in the Tuggeranong region who have been through similar journeys to connect with other families who have faced similar experiences.”

The first Treasure Time support group will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 24 at Neighbourhood House, Ellerston Avenue, Isabella Plains.
