BRADDON-based Axis Hairdressing was awarded “Best New Salon Design” at the 2014 Australian Hair Fashion Awards last night.
The award recognised the new Lonsdale Street salon’s innovation and design, ergonomic and creative work, its space and luxurious client centric environment.
After 22 years in its original Barry Drive location, Axis relocated to the Mode 3 building.
Creative director Gianni Ciaccia founded Axis Hairdressing in 1991 and admitted that, after 22 years, moving to the state-of-the-art salon was bittersweet.
“Moving from my very first salon – where I’ve spent a large part of my life – was a difficult thing to do, I had mixed emotions,” he says.
“But it was time to embrace change, move into a new, dynamic salon, and let my nephew Adam and niece Nicole put their stamp on the business.”
