Nowra man in court over Manuka gun threat

A Nowra man who is accused of threatening another man with a gun through the window of a Manuka restaurant in 2010 was extradited to Canberra yesterday.

Police-station-0553-175x175Police allege that at about 8.10pm on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, the 24-year-old man approached the window of the restaurant on Franklin Street and pointed the gun at a patron seated inside, in view of other patrons and staff members.

The offender did not discharge the firearm or cause physical harm to anyone, police say, and left the area shortly after the incident in a maroon-coloured sedan.

ACT detectives went to Nowra District Court yesterday and extradited the 24-year-old man back to Canberra to face charges of “act to cause public alarm”, “fail to appear after bail undertaking” and for a First Instant Warrant. Police planned to oppose bail.
