ACT Policing has arrested and charged a 31-year-old Torrens man after a computer tablet was found to contain child exploitation images.
The tablet had been found in a Canberra pet store on Friday, June 27, as misplaced property and when a staff member attempted to identify the tablet’s owner, it was found to contain the exploitation images.
When the owner returned to reclaim the device yesterday (Saturday, June 28), he was arrested. Police then executed a search warrant on the man’s home, seizing a computer and storage devices which will be subject to a computer forensic analysis.
The man will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow.
