Reid bicycle bandit with a knife in her bra

police

A 37-year-old Reid woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Saturday, June 28) charged with armed robbery and possession of a knife after she was apprehended following a robbery at the Coles Express Service Station in Mort St, Braddon yesterday afternoon.

Police will allege the woman entered the store just before 5pm. She produced a knife and threatened the console operator, then fled with a sum of cash. She was last seen riding off in the direction of Haig Park on a mountain bike.

ACT Policing patrols responded promptly and given a description of the alleged offender, began a search of the surrounding area.

In Henty St, Braddon, police located a woman matching the description of the offender, and seized a bicycle as evidence.

The alleged offender was found to have a knife and cash hidden in her bra.

Around an hour after the offence occurred, the woman was placed under arrest and conveyed to the ACT Watch House where she was later charged.
