“CITYNEWS” has a hot tip that Canberra’s alpaca shearing expert Ian “Jack” Elkins has been chosen to demonstrate the sweet science of shearing to the touring royal party at the Royal Easter Show.

Ian is the winner of 110 open shearing competitions, including an International event in 1994 at Denver, Colorado USA. He has won the Australian Shearing Championship in 1992, 1994, 1996 and 2000 and has been Australian Shearer of the Year 6 times.

He currently resides in Farrer and sports a proud Brumbies snapback on his website.

We sincerely hope he steers well clear of the Duke of Cambridge who hasn’t got much hair left to lose.
