ACT Policing has apprehended a male after failing to stop his vehicle when directed by NSW Police and fleeing across the NSW border into the ACT yesterday afternoon (June 8).

About 4.40pm, ACT Policing was notified that a NSW Police highway patrol was in pursuit of a vehicle which had entered the ACT from NSW near Williamsdale. A short time later the pursuit was terminated within the ACT.

About 4.50pm, an ACT Policing Tuggeranong Patrol member observed the vehicle, which had been involved in the pursuit with NSW Police, turn left from the Monaro Highway onto Johnson drive. The patrol then signalled for the driver to stop the vehicle and the driver complied.

At this time, ACT Policing identified a boy in the front passenger seat of the vehicle.

The 31-year-old Braddon man was arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House.

The man was charged for offences relating to reckless driving and exceeding the speed limit and will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning.

ACT Policing Traffic Operations Station Sergeant Rod Anderson said the incident was well coordinated between NSW Police and ACT Policing.

“The pursuit was managed well by all members involved and was resolved safely and successfully,” Sergeant Anderson Said.
