THE Bureau of Meteorology is warning that things are going to get windy.

for people in the Metropolitan, Illawarra, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts
Issued at 1:30 pm EDT on Monday 27 October 2014.

Gusty west to northwesterly winds ahead of southerly change expected to move through southeastern New South Wales during Monday afternoon and evening.

Weather Situation

DAMAGING WINDS around 60 km/h with peak gusts of 90 km/h are forecast for parts of the Metropolitan, Illawarra, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts.

The State Emergency Service advises that people should:

  • Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
  • Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony.
  • Keep clear of fallen power lines.

For emergency help in floods and storms, ring your local SES Unit on 132 500.

The next warning will be issued by 5:00 pm EDT Monday.
