President of the ACT Herpetological Association Dennis Dyer says this year’s exhibition celebrates the diversity of Australia’s pythons with a variety of species – of all shapes, sizes and colours on display.

“If snakes aren’t your thing, you can have a hold, a pat or just stand back and watch the display of lizards, turtles, frogs and more,” he says.

Snakes Alive! is run by the ACT Herpetological Association whose mission is to promote and protect Australian reptiles and amphibians.

Entry to the exhibition is $5 for adults, $2 per child and $4 for concession, with proceeds going towards education, research and the conservation of Australian

Snakes Alive! will be held in the Crosbie Morrison Building at the Australian National Botanic Gardens from 20 – 26 January and is open from 10.00 am – 4.00 pm weekdays and 10.00 am – 6.00 pm weekends.

Feeding times for the animals is 11.00 am and 2.00 pm daily.
