Snappers to show off at Floriade

THE work of Canberra’s best photographers will be on show during the final week of Floriade in a special exhibition of award-winning images.

Inspired by Floriade’s outdoors and adventure week theme, the exhibition will showcase silver and gold award-winning entries of landscapes, exterior architecture, outdoor wedding and portrait photography, travel and sporting images by leading local photographers at the recent Australian Professional Photography Awards.

Curator Geoff Comfort from the ACT division of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP) is one of 15 exhibitors says: “We have many talented photographers in our region and this exhibition brings together the best images as judged at Australia’s major photographic awards.”

Geoff  won two gold awards, one silver and one silver distinction award for his APPA prints, making him the highest-scoring photographer from the ACT. He also received additional recognition with a 4th gold bar (M. Photog IV) bringing him closer to becoming a Grand Master Photographer – the highest honour that can be awarded and representative of the excellence and dedication to a career in photography.

The AIPP Photography exhibition, the Inspiration Hub, Floriade, 9am-5pm, October 6-12.
