And the survey says… Late night bus users want to be dropped off close to home

SHANE Rattenbury has the unsurprising news that very few people fancy a late night hike from Belconnen to West Macgregor.

“ACTION asked the community whether they would prefer a higher frequency service consisting of three rapid bus routes dropping passengers at major town centres or bus stations to the current model which drops passengers at their closest bus stop,” Shane said.

“Over 550 people took part in the survey and 70% of participants indicated they preferred the current model consisting of eight routes every 90 minutes dropping passengers at the bus stop nearest their home.

“Based on the results, Nightrider will continue to operate as per previous years. We will now look at the results of survey and announce the final details of the service next month.

“The final Nightrider service for 2014 will be determined after ACTION has had a chance to review all the feedback and details will be communicated to the public from mid November,” Mr Rattenbury concluded.
