Trouble at the Majura Parkway

The proposed Majura Parkway.

TERRITORY and Municipal Services have given notice that the vast Majura Parkway construction project has lost its earthworks contractor.

“The ACT Government has been advised by Fulton Hogan, lead contractor for the Majura Parkway, that Hewatt Pty Ltd, the sub contractor responsible for earthworks, is likely to withdraw from the project,” a spokesperson said.

“Fulton Hogan, continues to provide assurances to the government that they will deliver the project on time and on budget. Fulton Hogan has also confirmed that arrangements for any remaining earthwork will be put in place.”

They advise that a mid 2016 completion date remains the target.
