COMMUNICATIONS Minister Malcolm Turnbull has launched a new website to test your internet speed. The only hitch is you have to give the Government your address while they poll your connection.
“The Government has launched a speed test on the MyBroadband website, allowing users to check their individual line speeds and provide more granular detail on their area’s service levels,” Malcolm said.
“This speed test represents the next stage of development for MyBroadband, an interactive website that allows users to search the broadband availability and quality profile for their local area.
The results from the speed test will be collected and analysed by the Department of Communications and will help map internet speeds across Australia.”
