A SEVERE weather warning has been issued for this afternoon as heavy hail and damaging winds hit Canberra.
Winds today reached 46km/h with gusts of up to 54km/h, with the warning saying thunderstorms and heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding.
The wild weather is expected to remain for most of the afternoon before clearing towards 8pm.
