Zed brings more trade training to Tuggeranong

Senator Seselja has stood in for Federal Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education Scott Ryan to open the new Tuggeranong Sustainable Living Trade Training Centre at Erindale College.

“In the 2014 school year and beyond, the Government will build an education system that gives all students – no matter where they live and what school they attend – the tools to succeed in their chosen field of endeavour,” Senator Seselja said.

The centre itself is in fact a series of facilities at Erindale College,Calwell High School, Caroline Chisholm High School, Lake Tuggeranong College, Lanyon High School and Wanniassa School Senior Campus.

Hopefully the trainers have a better grasp of their trades than the people who applied the word “centre” to this far flung enterprise.

UPDATE: Member for Canberra Gai Brodtmann has savaged Zed for taking credit for this centre while his Government has cancelled funding for many more.

“Senator Seselja needs to explain to the people of Canberra how he can proudly open this Trade Training Centre that Labor funded, when his Government has cancelled 14 future Trades Training Centres right here in the ACT,” Gai said.
