Alleged Comanchero arrested over shooting

police

ACT Policing Detectives from Taskforce Nemesis (Gangs Taskforce) arrested a 22-year-old Ngunnawal man yesterday (6 August), in relation to the shooting of a 36-year-old man earlier this year (12 March).

The arrest follows the seizure of a shotgun located during a search warrant executed on a residence in Ngunnawal (24 April). The warrant was conducted subsequent to investigations into Southside shooting incidents earlier this year.

The man is an alleged member of the Comanchero Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG), and was charged with Intentionally Inflict Grievous Bodily Harm. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (7 August 2015), where bail will be opposed.

Police remind the public to be vigilant as to the activities of OMCGs in their area. Information can be provided anonymously and rewards may be issued for information that leads to an arrest and/or successful prosecution.

If you have any information, please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
