COLD Chisel’s announcement of its coming “intimate one off show in Canberra” is in the cavernous Royal Theatre. SKATEBOARDS are the means by which artist Luke Chiswell examines the tyranny of time in his solo show “As It Goes”, showing at Nishi Gallery in NewActon. He sees the show as an exploration of disenchantment through the lens of his first passion, skateboarding. Opening Friday, February 20, 6pm-10pm (all welcome), the exhibition continues until March 8.
BILK Gallery in Palmerston Lane, Manuka, is chuffed to be hosting “Unfold and Construct”, an exhibition running until March 14 of new works by one of the brightest graduates of the ANU School of Art, Phoebe Porter, who combines geometric abstraction, bold colour and “unexpected asymmetry” to create jewellery designed to be worn.
MUSICA Viva is staging an innovative multimedia concert with leading Canadian period instrument orchestra, Tafelmusik, inviting the audience to step into the world of Bach, Handel and Vivaldi through projected images of salons and art, including paintings by Vermeer, Canaletto and Watteau.
