MICHAEL Flatley won’t be here for it, but he has directed “Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games”, coming to the Canberra Theatre from October 6 to 11. The show uses ground-breaking new technology, including holographs, dancing robots, champion acrobats and 34 of the greatest Irish dancers in the world all performing to a new score composed by Gerard Fahy. MENTAL as Anything is heading the Gundaroo Music Festival, 10am-10pm, Saturday, October 10. The event, featuring local bands and featured entertainers, is a fundraiser for research into Motor Neurone Disease.

THE ANU Music Students Association is organising a school-wide festival at the beginning of October. “En Plein Air” is aimed at celebrating its more contemporary musical groups and ensembles, including Slow Turismo, Helena Pop, Kaleid, The Steptones and Duck Duck Ghost. DAVID Pereira presents “Precious Sounds of Musical Precocity”, featuring young Sydney cellists, Ashleigh Chung, 14, and Benett Tsai, 12, who will perform alongside their parents, Joshua Tsai and Katherine Shin.
