The festival is aimed at encouraging residents and visitors to have new experiences through an arts program showcasing the abundance of creative talent living there.
Highlights of this upsurge of culture include exhibitions of pastel, oil and acrylic artworks historical photography, sculpture, textiles, jewellery, felting and woodturning. A “wearable art” fashion parade will draw attention to work by local fibre and textile artists.
Workshops in handmade book production and binding, wire wrapping in jewellery making, collage, copperplate etching, and paper making will complete the scene with hands-on creative activities.
There will be music from young Canadian pianist and winner of the 2012 Sydney International Piano Competition Avan Yu, underground and experimental bands Soul and Blues and Johnny G and the E-Types.
Bestselling author Kate Forsyth and cartoonist/author Judy Horacek will be around to talk about their work and the literary line-up will also feature poetry slams and book launches.
