Drugs, fence jumpers, and drunk kids, but Police generally happy with Groovin’ the Moo

ACT Policing was pleased with the overall behaviour of the crowd at the annual ‘Groovin the Moo’ festival which is held at the University of Canberra.

Police dealt with a small number of underage drinkers and took two people into custody for intoxication, along with two drug seizures.

The drug seizures are suspected to be cannabis and LSD. There were a few instances of “fence jumping” into the event and a small number of patrons evicted.

Last year ACT Policing took 14 individuals into custody; six adults and four juveniles for protective custody due to their intoxication and four separate suspected drug offences including possession of suspected cannabis, cocaine, magic mushroom and MDMA.

ACT Policing praised the event organisers as being well prepared and making it a safe and enjoyable occasion for all who attended.
