AN EXTRA night has been programmed for “Bijou – A Cabaret Of Secrets And Seduction” at The Street Theatre this Tuesday, September 15t at 7.30pm.
This show performed and devised by Chrissie Shaw and accompanist Alan Hicks, set in the dives of the Parisian demi-monde, has toured to packed houses in the country since its first season in Canberra.
Billed as “a play masquerading as a cabaret”, it is Shaw’s colourful story of a doyenne of the night, with songs and music from the French repertoire backwards in time from 1933 to the 1870s.
Hicks is, of course, her piano man.
“Bijou” at Street 2, The Street Theatre, September 15 to September 20, bookings to thestreet.org.au or 6247 1223.
