Fire crews battle O’Connor blaze

FIRE crews have extinguished a fire at a two-storey ACT Housing apartment on Berrigan Crescent, O’Connor.

FireFirefighters attacked the fire from the front and rear of the property with both levels involved and the fire spreading to the roof space. The roof had to be removed to ensure all hot spots are extinguished.

It is not yet known what started the fire.

One man in his twenties has been taken to Canberra Hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

The man, a woman and young child self evacuated.
