Further Park & Ride spaces for Tuggeranong

action bus

SHANE Rattenbury has announced 30 additional parking spaces have been built at the Park & Ride facility at the Tuggeranong Bus Station, near Anketell Street in Greenway.

“The Tuggeranong Park and Ride facility is one of the most highly used Park and Rides in the ACT, with the 58 existing spaces in high demand,” Shane said.

“TAMS recently reviewed the demand in the area and determined that there was a need for additional spaces.

“These new spaces will mean more Tuggeranong residents can make greater use of this facility, making bus travel from the region even easier.

“Registering for a Park and Ride permit is easy and free, all you need to do is have a certain amount of credit on your MyWay card with a automated direct debit and submit an online application form.

“I encourage Tuggeranong residents to make use of the facility by parking their car for free and catching a bus for the rest of their journey. The extensions at the facility will be available to the public for parking outside of working hours.

“To manage Canberra’s growth, reduce congestion and protect our liveability, we need to improve our public transport system. The ACT Government is committed to providing Canberra with better public transport options. We now have 18 Park & Ride facilities across the ACT.

“The ACT Government’s Transport Plan will improve our public transport system so it becomes more convenient, efficient, affordable and reliable, making sure Canberrans have a genuine alternative to driving.”
