Mugged and beaten with a stick in Richardson

ACT Policing is calling for witnesses who may have seen an assault which took place in Richardson on Sunday (20 September).

About 5.00pm a man was approached by a group of males along Johnson Drive. The males demanded cash.

The man left the area however a short time later he was followed by the same group of males in the vicinity of Mack Street and Pogney Place. He was then struck by a large stick suffering minor injuries. The male offenders then fled the scene.

One male offender is described as being about 173cm (5’8”) tall with brown hair and brown eyes, possibly wearing black clothing.

The second male offender is about 173cm (5’8”) tall, thin build and wearing black clothing.

The third male offender was wearing a black and yellow jersey style shirt.

It is believed two of the males were on bicycles.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who can identify the group of males to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously. Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook page or Twitter feed.
