Nightrider returns

SHANE Rattenbury has announced that ACTION’s Nightrider bus service will again be driving Canberrans home during the festive season.

“It’s great to see the service in operation for another year, providing people with a convenient, safe and reliable means to get home during the festive season,” Shane said.

“Following a successful 2014/15 year, the Nightrider will retain the same schedule for 2015/16. The bus will continue to drop people off at the nearest bus stop to their home.

“Nightrider will operate between midnight and 3.45 am on 4-5 December, 11-12 December and 18-19 December with extra services on New Year’s Eve.

“The Nightrider bus is a great option for the number of Canberra’s partaking in Christmas in the City festivities and I’d really encourage Canberrans to plan their activities with Nightrider in mind.

“To catch the Nightrider will cost passengers $5 cash. MyWay cards will not be accepted.

“I encourage Canberrans to leave the car at home this year for their festive celebrations and let Nightrider be your designated driver home,” Mr Rattenbury concluded.

Buses will depart from Platform 7 at the City Bus Station and service all Canberra suburbs, dropping passengers at the closest bus stop to their home.

More information on Nightrider, including a downloadable timetable, is available at action.act.gov.au.
