Police want witnesses to Lyneham fire

ACT Policing is calling for witnesses to a fire within a unit complex in Lyneham yesterday afternoon (Thursday, 25 June)

About 2pm police attended the Lyneham Flats on Northbourne Avenue after reports of a fire.

A number of residents were evacuated from the units and the fire was extinguished by ACT Fire and Rescue. ACT Ambulance Service attended and treated residents for smoke inhalation.

ACT Fire and Rescue have deemed the fire as suspicious. AFP Forensics attended and examined the scene.

Police would urge anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in or around the Lyneham area to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information to Crime Stoppers can be provided anonymously.
