police

ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred yesterday (Saturday, 8 August) morning after two men entered Joe’s Motorcycles on Collie Street, Fyshwick and stole a number of items.

Around 10.50am two men were stopped by staff inside the store after attempting to leave without paying for clothing and motorcycle helmets.

At this time, the men ran from the store with the stolen items and were chased down Collie Street by a staff member. During the chase, the staff member was assaulted by one of the men with a motorcycle helmet.

The men were last seen entering a blue sedan and fleeing the area. At the time of the incident, both men were wearing blue jeans and dark coloured tops.

During this incident, police believe that a number of people went to the assistance of the assaulted staff member and could provide information that could assist in the investigation.

Police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via the website, www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
