Upgrades for over 100 playgrounds across Canberra

shane rattenbury

SHANE Rattenbury says 108 playgrounds across the ACT will receive upgrades to improve both accessibility and safety.

“The improvements include replacing or repairing sections of the equipment including hand rails, scramble nets, fencing and other minor amendments. Not only will this improve safety, but we hope the works will make the equipment more fun for the children who use it,” Shane said.

“Residents will soon notice our contractors at various sites around Canberra conducting the improvements.

“The works are minor in nature but for safety reasons will require playgrounds to be closed for a few hours or up to a few days. The works have been programmed to coincide with the end of the school holidays to minimise inconvenience to the public.”
