Wanniasa Mugger nabbed in Swinger Hill

police

ACT Policing has arrested a 23-year-old man from Wanniassa after he allegedly stole a car and wallet in Kambah last night (Monday 13 April).

About 10.15pm, a man was sitting in his car in the Saint Thomas the Apostle school in Kambah when he was approached by a man who told him to get out of the car but leave his wallet, to which he complied.

After the offender drove off in the vehicle, the man ran to a nearby house and called police.

Police were able to locate the vehicle in Mansfield Place, Swinger Hill a short time later.

The offender was located standing near the vehicle. He tried to run when approached by police, but was apprehended.

The man will appear in the ACT Magistrates Court this morning charged with robbery, stolen motor vehicle and unlicensed driving offences.
