police

ACT Policing has seized a substance suspected to be MDMA during the search of a vehicle in Wright yesterday (1 May 2015).

About 11.10pm, police intercepted a female driving a Mazda sedan. The vehicle was then subject to a Drugs of Dependence Act (DODA) search warrant where approximately 170 capsules of a substance suspected to be MDMA was located and seized. A small amount of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine was also located and seized.

The search was part of a long-running ACT Drugs and Organised Crime Team investigation, targeting a criminal syndicate involved in the distribution of illicit substances in the ACT.

A 24-year-old Wright woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, charged with possessing a drug of dependence and trafficking a controlled drug.

Police investigations are ongoing.

Police are urging anyone who may have information regarding manufacture, sale or distribution of illicit drugs to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously. Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
