Work finally starts to fix the Captain Cook Memorial Jet

THE National Capital Authority (NCA) is preparing to undertake restoration and upgrade works on the iconic Captain Cook Memorial Jet (the Jet) at Regatta Point.

As reported in September this year, the Jet has been inoperable since June 2015 due to a secondary fault resulting from an unexpected failure of its pumping system earlier in the year.

Temporary site fencing will be erected on Monday 16 November 2015, with a rolling program of works being undertaken until early 2016.

Later stages of the works at the site will require changes to traffic management and parking, as well as the establishment of a works compound. The NCA will notify the public once a program of works has been finalised.

The National Capital Exhibition and the Deck Restaurant will remain operational over the course of the works.
